Vineyard to Bottle Costing
Manage vineyard blocks, winery tanks and vessels, then track costs through every stage — pruning, harvest, fermentation, ageing, bottling — as they roll up into each product.
Activity-Based Allocation Engine
Cost pools are linked to measurable drivers (labour hours, hectares, tonnes, litres, barrel days). The engine computes a rate per driver and allocates costs to products, with smart suggestions from history and alerts when a cost runs more than 15% above average.
Loss & Yield Tracking
Volume losses at fermentation and ageing are captured and reduce saleable volume, so cost per litre reflects what you actually have to sell — not what you started with.
Blending & Bottling Costs
Define blends with percentage contributions that must total 100%, with weighted average costs calculated automatically. Bottle, label, closure and packaging costs are added per unit at bottling.

Why it's built this way
Most wineries know their total costs but not their product costs — the spreadsheet model breaks the moment you blend two vintages or lose volume in barrel. Vine Cost was built on proper activity-based costing because that is how wine economics actually work: pruning costs follow hectares and labour hours, barrel costs amortise over fills, and losses must push cost per litre up or margins are fiction. Every business rule — blends summing to 100%, yields calculated from tonnage, prior-stage costs flowing through inventory — is enforced in the data model, so the numbers a winemaker prices from are the numbers a CA(SA) would sign off.
